glomp
Hello good people. I have been reading alot in this forums about various topics and in the "i need ideas for bussiness" type threads the "rental boxes" idea is thrown around (perhaps in jest) some. The "plan" seems to be to buy some land and build cheap square thai style box homes on it. The idea i guess is to tap in to the locals instead of the unsure and cut throat tourist market. I don't have any illusions about "easy money" or other 14 day in thailand farang dreams, i have read all the "don't to it you will die" threads too My questions: How is the renting situation for thais, ie how much are they prepared to pay per month for reasonably standard housing? Udon thani or in the Issan area. How much would it cost to build excluding land? Say a 20 unit row of boxes or a 2 story house with 20 apartments. It's always location location location when it comes to housing i know. If you have the numbers please post both "somewhat in town" and "1-3km from town/ring road". glomp
I have been talking to some locals over the internet and a "reasonable rent" for an apartment is suposedly around 2000 per month. That isn't alot of money unless you can scale it over a huge amount of units.
