"high Season" Golf Prices

Hang Dong is OK if you can put up with 5's & 6's jumping in front of you on a very regular basis-unfortunately usually locals of course. :)

Hang Dong is well organised compared to highlands where you will be have to wait for any Thai's to tee off before you can. 2 ball or 5 ball if they are Thai they have priority regardless. Finish your first nine start the second nine you will still wait. They do not want your business and couldn't care less.

If you are keen to pay 1000 baht for that then good luck to you.

Funny, i played highlands over a dozen times before the high season started, and that was never the case. You might be right that they don't want YOUR business for some reason, but there were always happy to get our business. There were no thais or anybody jumping in front of us, not once. This in fact would be quite weird behavior considering the club is run by a farang.

Highlands is a highly impressive course, and is most professionally run in my experience.

It was not a case of thais jumping in as you put but the starter. The farang in charge couldn't run a coconut shy. IMO and experience.

Highlands have also banned 5 balls (of any nationality). During the high season I have never had a round lasting more than 4 1/2 hours, and usually nearer 4. The starter has never shown any preferences to anyone whilst I have been there.

You obviously have an axe to grind without stating what it is. This you would need to do in order to at least give your opinions any kind of merit in the face of denigrating a company and its management without any apparent reason for doing so. If there's good reason for your grievances, you should state them, otherwise you're just doing your best to mess up a business presumably because you allowed yourself to get pissed off.

Luckily the manager is not running a coconut shy, because the golf course he's running is recognised widely as a top quality place to play golf in asia.

Played ChiangMai Inthanon Golf Resort for the first time today. 800THB includes caddie. Fabulous golf course in good condition, still has some maturing to do. Place was deserted, maybe being 50km away has that affect. Two of us went on motorbikes, nice ride on open highway. New clubhouse construction is well underway. Too bad the smoky skies blocked out what is likely a great view. Highly recommend all golfers visit and support this great facility.

That is not correct, played there yesterday and we were a two behind a five- they did have the courtesy to let us through after the 4th hole though. Finished a comfortable round in just over 4 hours.

Hang Dong, like the course but if the op's idea of organised must mean there are two Hang Dong golf courses. Starter there is useless, assuming he is actually there. Got a photo of another 6 going to hole 7 as we got to hole 6 on Monday.

The previous week a 4 went to hole 6 as we came up hole 5 whilst another 5 went to hole 7-yeah-that's organised. :)

Would prefer if that was kept quiet-oops too late. Three year membership at 20,000 baht.

Gold Canyon is also a nice course, also a long way and a bit expensive.

Will be doing a review of all the provinces courses on our new website which will be live in a couple of weeks, including a forum in English & Thai with hopefully Japanese and Korean to come later.

Can you give some directions? That is a most reasonable price, and it's always fun playing a new course and not knowing what the next hole is like.

Directions: follow the HangDong Chiangmai-Hot road, it is two lane divided highway all the way with the exception of single lane through the towns of Hang Dong and San Patong. Along the way or at least after SanPatong there are white cement milage markers which indicate the milage from the Three Kings Monument in Chiangmai. The 50Kms marker is at an intersection with a set of lights and large green & white overhead road signs (left to Lamphun I think), turn right here onto a narrow dirt lane which leads to the course about 2.5 kms.

The right turn is in the middle of the traffic light junction and is a small soi, easy to miss but there is a sign on the wall, course entrance is about 1 mile down on the left.

New website, I don't think I will be able to post here as maybe considered advertising, happy to pm those who request the url for when it is fully operational.

There is a blue/white sign 'Chiang Mai Inthanon Golf Resort' just before the intersection. Watch for it. The left turn sign is not for 'Lamphun' just not sure what the town is.... The soi on the right is paved but is a small road.
