Thaiquila
OK, here is the scenario. I go to Pattaya Immigration on a Thursday to apply for a 30 day extension. First of all, should I expect the extension back the same day, the next day, or the following Monday? And assuming I get the extension, is the 30 days dated from: 1. the day I hand in the application? 2. the day I get back my passport? 3. 30 days from the expiry date of the 60 day tourist visa? I need to know so I can make a correct change to my outbound air ticket. Edited April 13, 2005 by Thaiquila
george
The day you hand in your passport. The extension will be issued while you wait.
unbiasbob
My personal experience getting a 30 day tourist visa extension in Pattaya was turning in the passport and being instructed to pick it up the following day. This never happens in BKK but it did down there the 1 time I did it. That was last July btw
thaiflyer1
For Pattaya if you hand it in on the morning its the same afternoon you get it back. If you hand it in on the afternoon its the following morning when you get it back. Consensus is in Pattaya extensions run from end of 60 day stay.........i suspect this will be even more so the case over Songkran. Edit.........if you hand it in one morning and cant be bothered to go back on the same afternoon, just go following morning nothing will be said. sua yai
I've extended tourist visas numerous times in BKK and have always got 30 days from the date the first 60 expires, not the day you apply. Maybe different in Pattaya?
lopburi3
Believe it is normally from date of expiry for a proper visa but from date of application when done on a 30 day stamp. But would not guarantee that as a hard and fast rule.
