citylife
Ho Ho Ho!! by Dutch Club, Chiang Mai Date: Now – 6th December 2009 Location: Dutch Club 086 117 8622 The Dutch Club in Chiang Mai, called the VNTCM (de Vereniging van Nederlanders in Thailand, in Chiang Mai) are now celebrating the Christmas Day on the 1st of December 2009. During Happy-Hour (sometime between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.), Dutch Santa will arrive by boat following the Mae Ping River. He will be dressed in his official costume, being a long red jacket coat with white trousers and having a long white beard, with a red top-head decorated with a golden cross - accompanied by his assistant, called 'black Piet' - who carried the bag with presents. Both of them, Sinterklaas & Piet, will arrive by small boat at the club - as this is the tradition (as it is and will be celebrated) in the Netherlands (Holland). At Guest House Montri Hollanda, Sinterklaas will address the Dutch members of the Club and some guests "in Dutch" and will give some presents away to the grown-up children (as presently there are no Dutch kids), while everybody will be singing Dutch Birthday-songs especially made for this occasion.
