MTDD
What's your price range? Well, I'm thinking about 5000-7500 baht for 6 AC output.
Nordlys
I use PS Audio's Duet and 6 noise harvesters. Duet sells for about 15,000 baht in Thailand and noise harvester about 4,100 baht but the price might have risen recently. See link below for the entire product range of PS Audio power products. Their now-discontinued top of the range noise filter (or rather, power re-gneerator as they call it) now sells for 70,000 baht down from almost 100K, till the stock lasts. Contact K' Wuti of Audio Excellence (email on PS Audio website) or his dealer K' Wiroj of IMAGE at Amarin Center (BTS Chidlom). http://www.psaudio.com/ps/products/list/power/ Another distributor/dealer in Amarin Center called Deco 2000 sells Shunyata Research's Hydra and Guardian Pro series power conditioner but I don't know their prices other than that Guardian Pro sells for around 30,000 baht and Hydra around 70,000 baht depending on the number of sockets. Deco 2000 also sells a parallel conditioner by Quantum Resonance Technology (distributed by Nordost). QX-4 sells for 100K baht and QX-2 sells for 80K respectively. They only come with one socket so you will need a power strip (or else buy multiple conditioner for each component) to use this. http://www.shunyata.com/Content/products-PowerDist.html http://blog.stereophile.com/rmaf2008/101108nordost/ And there's Richard Gray's Power Company that sells both the isolation transformer (not noise filter but rather noise blocker) and parallel conditioners whose price starts from around 45,000 baht (more for isolation transofmrer) but I don't really recommend the distributor (shit service attitude). http://www.richardgrayspowercompany.com/ If you're looking for cheaper, locally made power conditioners (noise filters) there's Silicone Power Supply which sells home application noise filters (and voltage stabilizer) for around 5,000 baht and up. http://www.siliconthai.com/index.htm Whichever it is you're buying I suggest you audition them first (if possible at home) before deciding to buy one. Wow! Thank you for your detail infomation. I'm also looking at another local brand as below: http://www.magnetaudio.com/store/en/produc...ry=17&SCID= http://www.clef-audio.com/ Does anyone has any experience with thier products. Now I think whichever I will buy it will more expensive than what I planed
Nordlys
US$11,255 for Thai made Magnet line conditioner??? What's up with that? Their components costs barely costs 30,000 baht. I've never owned either of these brands but I once had a Thai made, Silicon Power Supply line conditioner witch sequence switching and surge protection, came with 6 sockets. Bought a model (believe it was Tiger-4) costing 12 - 13,000 baht second hand for 7,000 baht (just gave it away to my friend!). It did its job and the difference was quite noticeable both in sound and video (better S/N, lower noise floor, improved color saturation, etc), but not as dramatic as the much smaller, imported PS Audio Duet I've replaced with later (15,000 baht). I haven't tried anything more expensive but I thought for 15,000 baht the PS Audio was a pretty good investment and I regretted I didn't buy it sooner (didn't want to spend so much on accessory other than source, amp, speaker and cables). I'm now thinking of replacing Duet for another upgrade. If you're buying the filter type line conditioners (which I believe all of these Thai made line conditioners are), general rule of thumb is NOT to plug the amp into it but straight to the wall outlet especially if you have a high powered amp (or power amp in case you have pre + power separate) or else the disadvantage might be greater than advantage (e.g. loss of dynamics). That is even if the line conditioner's maximum power rating covers the entire power output of your A/V system including the amp. CarlBkk
Also check out Isotek mains conditioners, Image at Amarin have them. Locally-made ones are available at the Hi-Fi Centre ground floor. The problem you'll have is this: you need to try before you buy, but all shops here will want you to pay first before you take them home....then if you didn't like it you can only have a credit not a refund. IMAGE (Audio Excellence) and DECO 2000 are happy to lease some of their products for home auditioning for up to a week, provided they have a demo unit. But I was already their regular customer by the time I asked to borrow their products (mostly cables) for home auditioning, so I don't know how accommodating they were to my request if I were new to them. Others would ask 1,000 - 3,000 baht (deductible from the price of the product if you decide to buy it) or free but only for a day and their sales present at your home while home auditioning. For products like line conditioner I think it's enough that you audition it at shop because unlike audio components it's match and "synergy" with your home components aren't much of concern.
