Angkhan Nature Resort

Stayed there a couple of years ago in a cabin type of arrangement. Quite relaxing, good food. Basic aminities. They picked us up from the airport. Nice to wake up in the morning with frosted dew on the grass, go for a long walk in the hills and enjoy nature without throngs of tourists. Go back there for a longer stay later this year. :o

Wonderful place. Very Peaceful, beautiful gardens, comforatable rooms, good food... :o

Not sure which 'main road' you're referring to, but I'd say it's easy to find if you have a map- or a GPS. It's at the very end of the main road to Doi Angkhang.

If you do have a GPS, here is the GPS route in both .trk and a .xls file formats.

Stayed there a few years back and had a quite enjoyable time. went up into the mountians early in the morning and watched the pack trains coming out of Myanmar. The gardens are beautiful and this place is overall peaceful. If it were not so far out I would live there forever. I know that opens me up to criticism but you have to do what a person has to do.

I phoned this resort a few years ago and asked about prices, specials etc. Got the g/f to phone straight after with same questions and she was offered better 'specials'!!!

Anyone know if they have a dual price policy? Would like to go but this experience soured me to the place.

Has anyone stayed at this resort if so is it good, bad or mediocre, also is it easy to get to once off the main road?

Thanks

Access to DAK is “pretty easy”, but all the roads to Doi Ang Khang are “as steep as”, & incredibly winding – brilliant motorcycling (driving?) roads.

There are a couple of options getting to / from DAK

1. The main road 1249 from just 14kms south of Fang

2. Route 1340 that runs along the border from Arunothai / Nong Uk.

3. Nor Lae the amazing extremely steep descent straight into Fang. This is only recommended going down to Fang & this way you can get to Fang in just 30-40 mins!

Personally Id recommend going to DAK via R1340 & then down via 1249 or Nor Lae.

But if you’re in a hurry go via the main road up 1249 & then return slowly via 1340 or Nor Lae.

If you want to see some photos of the DAK roads & area, take a look at

Ajarn, I've tried to download this file 3 times, & each time I try to extract it I get an error message about a missing 613 bytes. Is the zip file ok?

Cheers

My apolgies for the annoyance. The file is fine, but something happens after I upload the file... These should be okay individually http://asiarecipe.com/chiangdaodoiangkhangcm.trk

The xls file is ok, but I can't open the trk file. Have tried trackmaker & gpsmapedit software whick should open a trk file but they give me a error message. don't know if the fle is corrupted again or i'm using the wrong software. What software do you use.

Cheers
