PHUKET: The Consular Section of the American Embassy in Bangkok has announced a consular outreach visit to Phuket on March 19. Consular staff will be available to provide consular services for American citizens at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa from 8am to 12 noon on Friday, March 19. The following consular services will be available during the outreach visit: Passport renewal applications (US$75 or 2,550 baht for adult passports, and US$85 or 2,890 baht for a children’s passports). Notarial Services and Certified Copies (US$30.00 or 1,020 baht). This includes income affidavits for retirees in Thailand. Social security, VA or other federal benefits questions will be limited, but staff will try to provide forms and answers. Those who intend to use the paid-for services are asked to bring exact change. NOTE: Extra visa pages cannot be processed during outreach trips. Applications can be accepted, but the passports will have to be taken back to the Embassy for final processing the next day. The passports will then have to be picked up in person (or by a friend upon presentation of a letter of authorization signed by the applicant) at the Embassy in Bangkok.
