ronz28
Cisco will announce on Tuesday something they say will forever change the internet. Google and ISPs have been working on a super fast internet so this may be a part of that. Does anyone have any knowledge of the implementation of this being planned in Thailand? How will it impact the way you use the internet in Thailand? Will we need to purchase new routers etc.? Here are a few articles... http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/ed9a5262-20b7-11...?nclick_check=1 http://sanjose.bizjournals.com/sanjose/sto...1/daily124.html

selftaopath
Google wanted to make set up shop here in LOS (Land of Scams) but as is so typical the Thai "brains/money/power" brokers couldn't get their act together - probably couldn't figure out who/how to bribe- and Google decided to take the opportunity to another country. I think they went to India or Philippines and employed locals there, but not here. The Thai people deserve better.
ronz28
Apparently the announcement will disclose new equipment for ISPs that get 100 times faster speeds than currently possible. http://bx.businessweek.com/mobile-broadban...urce%3Dnew_post Actual announcement from John Chambers at Cisco will be at 11:00 Eastern time USA. ronz28
Announcement is successful completion of the world's first field trial of 100-Gigabit backbone network technology, which took place in AT&T's live network between New Orleans and Miami- http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articl...ire/0594332.htm The Cisco CRS-3 is currently in field trials, and its pricing starts at $90,000 U.S. so it looks affordable for Thai Internet Service Providers. Maybe much faster speeds will soon be available in Thailand.
