Well there were some whining that Jingthing's reference to a POLL was wrong and biased.

Here's their chance to VOTE ONCE, and we can see what TVF people think of the situation.

So far lets just say, it appears 'Statistically significant'.

I don't really see how Abhisit or the Military can use force at this juncture. I don't doubt the ability to shut these protests down, but the cost could be too high for the country to bear. Every day that the government stands strong and nobody is injured or killed is a victory.

Either the reds will run out of steam, or they will be caught bombing or firing a grenade, or they will become outwardly aggressive or violent with authorities (more than mere skirmishes). If any of the latter two occurs it will be time to move in. Until such time they must wait.

One man, One vote.

Trouble is I suspect that a lot of these 'political debators' :) , have multi accounts, multi pseudonyms, and will probably have been reincarnated 6 or 7 times before Sunday :D

The vote will still show at least 3;1 against the reds, unlike what the red supporters say/believe.

Personally I voted B.

What Abhisit needs to do now ...

He needs to get on TV, do interviews and all else to get his message out as well as keeping everyone informed. His office needs to have hourly updates on the situation to ease fears and concerns the general public has. He needs to use this situation to show he is in charge, has a plan and reinforce his true concern for all Thailand.

Look at the popularity of the Mayor of NY after 9/11 because of his simply getting out there and talking to remind people he was in control, understood their concerns and reminded them he would do everything in his power for their benefit.

Vote once? That's no fun. Well I for one am voting early and frequently as they say in the Democratic stronghold of Chicago, Obama's hometown.

So far it does appear that most of the Farangs on this board are liberal European socialist CS's. Pity that.

I think that the protestors will be limited in what they can do from now on. No parading around the streets (although I did see a group out at 2am last night - maybe coming in to join the mob).

The government won't crack down on the protestors. The protest leaders are talking about that, so that more protestors will join them.

dissolve the government? What government?- Thailand- with the exception of a few provinces south of Bangkok and north of Yala- is precipitously close to being not governed at the moment- at least not by the institution established to do so.

I think that in this situation, there is no choice but to dissolve parliament.

A poll such as this will also be an interesting comment on the population of this webboard.

One side will call for the annihilation of the Red Shirts, the other for a house dissolution

Will be an interesting result.

Any European country would not allow protesters to hold the country's capital hostage and would have used water jets and CS gas already to disperse the crowd and put an end to this so called piece-full demonstration which is really nothing but a disguised coup attempt by one person using the IQ challenged (of which there are apparently a lot) to obtain his goal of becoming "president for life". He had already turned the country into his own cash machine but apparently the billions of $ were not enough.

It's time the government moves against the protesters with full force. It is obvious that half measures will not work. This is ( I think) the first revolution attempt in history on behalf of a capitalist convicted criminal. Anyone with an IQ above 60, when looking at the facts must realize that the coup was required to stop Mr. T in his tracks of robbing the country further and of placing his own supporters into all key positions of government and army to make sure he will stay in power. Even old Ferdinand Marcos only got away with this for some time....

LOL :D

Rich Elite Yellow shirts who can use the Internet on the latest Mac PC with a 10MB broadband connection in their AC "study room" can each vote once.

Red shirts out on the streets or working in the factory or on the farm with no internet connection and no PC can vote, but of course, will not be able to.

LOL :D

dissolve parliament is the best way to end this protest. :D

this one perhaps. :)

I have a solution to the current situation.

Politely invite all the reds to camp out and protest at that big empty football stadium on Ramkenhang.

Benefits:

The city isn't being held hostage, no need to bring in the water cannons, large screen - PA system and ample toilets in place. Comfortable accomadation, cut down on green-house gases caused by motorbikes and caravans, easing traffic congestion throughout the city, tourists return, business open up again, economy moves forward, lots of water for songkran, bill the whole thing to Taki.

Chance to catch an odd football match - perhaps even a concert?

Negatives: too convenient, makes too much sense, doesn't make for good TV.

Gold plated latest Mac PC I'll have you know.

Am glad you've got the typical ThaiVisa demographic nailed accurately there.

It's a vote of Thai Visa users. Not an national poll.

I do understand and almost agree with you. Althought I am not sure the answer, I do find myself wondering when is the right time to disperse this unlawful assembly? There have been numerous acts of violence from indivuals (Red and those against) to the Reds working in Mobs which include storming the Parliment Grounds to pouring blood (biological agent) in the streets and on police. Any law they are made aware of, they flagarenty break. The have comendeared police and military vehicles, pushed and chased police and military ....

Bottom, line is even if somebody dies the reply will be it was a fake Red who did it or just not sanctioned blah blah blah. So, of course then is not the time to act against the entire illegal assembly. This mentality will go on forever.

The facts remain that numerous people have been injured and deprieved of their freedoms and parts of BKK are in Chaos while the citizens are living in fear of what is next.

Again, I am not sure of the answer of when the right time is but I do know you cannot continue to move the goal post and cannot come and tell prosters that you have no intention of forcing them to disperse.

Short term solution - Long term nightmare:

No, thank you.

This poll while reflecting the feelings of those on TV, cant be extrapolated to represent the feelings of foreigners in general in thailand

In fact it only relects the feelings of the members of TV who choose to vote and not that of members as a whole.

Be patient and negotiate smart and continue to search for a peaceful solution.

Under no circumstances do I want to see violence and bloodshed in front of my door or at any other place in Thailand. (I live and work in the middle of the Rajprasong intersection rally site).

Why wait to arrest the Red Leaders, they know the Hotels in which they are staying, warrants have been made, so get in there and arrest them.

Also let those business who have lost money take the Red Leaders to court, if they cannot pay the fines (or Thaksin does not pay them for those guys) then take their homes from them, show people that if you do things that are without regard for the Law you will be punished. Also make sure you put these red Leaders in jail and not out on bail, also do not release the location of the jails.

Without their so called leaders the reds will go home.

But if you do this for the reds now, you have to do it for all in the future.

wait until they commit more serious crimes ????

They are holding the capital hostage, destroying peoples life, stormed parliament destroyed property and wounded people .... how much more do you want them to get away with??

The longer they wait, the more difficult it will get
