2 Filipino men arrested for 'ice' smuggling at Mae Sai border

CHIANG RAI (TNA) -- Two Filipino nationals were arrested for smuggling 5.3 kg of methamphetamine (ice) after they crossed into Thailand's Mae Sai border entry from Thachilek in neighbouring Myanmar, according to the Thai authorities.

Darong Titong Maoyaz, 35, and Salvador Aweebon, 52, were apprehended with 16 bags of the drug, which had been hidden in their luggage.

According to the initial investigation, the suspects said they had arrived in Mae Sai district on Sunday night before leaving for Thachilek in Myanmar's Shan State on Monday morning. They said they were carrying the drugs for sale in Malaysia.

According to the Thai authorities, the price of the confiscated methamphetamine was about Bt1 million per kilo at the border. If successfully smuggled and sold in Malaysia as stated by the detainees, the drug would fetch as much as Bt50 million per kilo.

Thai officials have already contacted Burmese authorities in order to locate related dealers and for further investigation of the case. (TNA)

So, now the Burmese are making 'ice' as well as 'yaabaa'?? Not a hard transition as they are both same same.....but yaabaa has more additives??

I suspect that the label would depend on market demand...

Welcome to Bangkok's well known 'rehabilitation center' in Bang Khwang.

Great to hear a comment from 'inside'!

I am very surprised as I never expected that the ladies and gentlemen

inside Siamese prisons would have access to internet.

Can you give us more details?

How is life? How long do you still have to do?

Please don't tell us that you are innocent, because even if that could be

possible but we would have to believe you on your word.

Limbo :)
