boredofengland
Visited Ao Nang a couple of years ago, had some friends in a bar called LUCKY BAR, just wondering if A - The area was badly hit by the Tsunami and if it is still there?
Joey Boy
know a guy with a hotel there, said Ao Nang was pretty much uneffected due to the seawall, the problem now being a lack of tourism which is forcing a lot of the smaller players out of business Edited June 23, 2005 by Joey Boy
Baht Simpson
Ao Nang has a pretty vigorous longtailboat trade too, taking people to the islands. They must be affected desparately by the lower tourist figures. Edited June 23, 2005 by Baht Simpson
Lobin
Visited Ao Nang a couple of years ago, had some friends in a bar called LUCKY BAR, just wondering if A - The area was badly hit by the Tsunami and if it is still there? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Unlike many peoples thoughts and rumours Krabi and Ao Nang was not really directly affected by the Tsunami, after the wave happened within a few weeks the place was back to pretty much normal, the indirect affect of the Tsunami was the obvious loss of trade to both Expat and Thai companies alike, in the middle of the "high" season, which has lead to a somewhat elongated "low season". Lucky Bar is still alive and kicking down the soi of disappointment, I am revisiting Ao Nang in the next few days, I shall send them your regards and have a set or 2 in your absense! How is ol' blightly anyway?
