abbeymike
Some great photos. Thanks. I am about to teach a hstory / geography topic that I have planned to teach to 10 year olds. The topic is Bangkok Past and Present. Hopefully the students will find it interesting. I am looking at Bangkok now compared to about 100 years ago 1890s - 1930s. With emphasis on change in (1)transport today's traffic jams and methods of transport compared with in the past the boats on the klong and rivers. (2) Buildings todays skyscrapers, hotels, supermarkets etc compred to wooden houses with stilts mainly near river and klongs and (3) business/trade today in supermarkets tourism, shops compared to how people traded and sold things 100 years ago. I have got lots of pics from this site that are very useful. If any one has anysuggestions, pics please post them. I am having difficulty finding a map of old Bangkok and old Bangkok to compare and show changes in buildings roads etc. If anyone can help would be appreciated. Cheers
Tanaka
Bangkok.....not sure of the year. 1923 {??}. Looks to be what was once called "New Road". Take notice of the English 'photos' sign to the left. Look at the car. It has to be at least some 10 years later.
BradinAsia
Old pedi-cabs of the late 1950s The caption "pedicab" is a bit off. This is clearly a motorised tricycle. Great pics. Thanks.
