Sukhumvit near Nana 1975

Sukhimvit near Nana 2013 (exact same spot). On the right is now the Landmark Hotel. 

A couple of different angles so you can identify it is indeed the same spot. The reddish building on the left, and the white building further back, still there. 

Maybe head back in daylight to get a better shot. 

That was a lot of fun! Took me just over an hour to find with the help of a few locals I picked out that spoke English and looked about 100 years old.

some great old pics there, i take it there not all yours though/ you really should credit the photographer.

 

my first trip was pre sky train ( 1979)  Moved to Pattaya in 1984 from HK.

 

miss those early days

The 2004 tsunami pict doesn't belong to the exact era, but is the one that has stricken me the most. Thank you for posting.

That's just down the road from Central right? Opposite tawan daeng. You won't recognise it now.

I wonder how easy the USA Internal Revenue Service would accept somebody that lists their loved on over in Thailand as a dependent?  Every person I know here that has a partner still in Thailand, sends them a considerable amount of money every month
