webfact Posted August 10, 2010 Share Posted August 10, 2010 Blackouts in Phuket tomorrow: PEA PHUKET: -- The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has announced a scheduled blackout to carry out maintenance on high voltage power lines in Rawai and Chalong from 9am to 4pm tomorrow. Affected areas include: Rawai: Much of Nai Harn, including Saiyuan Road, Soi Kok Yang, Soi Hua Phru, Soi Kok Makham, Soi Naya and the beach road Chalong: West side of Chao Fah West Road, including Soi Na Kok, Chao Fa Thani village, Nai Trok community, and Soi Sai Namyen to Chalong Temple. -- Phuket Gazette 2010-08-10 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I was about to post this myself, but I didn't have any acceptable link to this news as required by TV. I still haven't heard of the reason why, but I would guess they are replacing some main power cables. I just hope it's not a hot day tomorrow! I already have filled the backup water supply and watered all the plants... Edit: It posted the reason why. Just as I had guessed. Sorry PG!
