News_Editor Posted October 10, 2010 Share Posted October 10, 2010 Residents flee homes as moderate earthquake jolts Islamabad 2010-10-11 05:01:35 GMT+7 (ICT) ISLAMABAD (BNO NEWS) -- A moderate earthquake rattled the Pakistani capital of Islamabad on early Monday morning, seismologists and witnesses said. The 5.1-magnitude earthquake at 2.44 a.m. local time (2144 GMT Sunday) was centered approximately 40 kilometers (25 miles) northwest of Islamabad. It struck about 33 kilometers (20.5 miles) deep, making it a shallow earthquake, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
