Wat Rong Khun

Description below from discoverythailand.com:

Wat Rong Khun is very different to any of temple you are likely to see in Thailand. A lifetime project of artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, the temple has a fine blend of traditional Buddhist art with contemporary themes. The temple is almost entirely white – no other colours are used at all. It is though decorated with small pieces of mirrored glass which add substantially to the temple’s spacious and airy feel. Designed to be viewed in moonlight, if you can manage to get there when the moon is out it’s worth the effort – very nice indeed.

Great pictures!

Here are two more. Taken back in 1997. The temple steps are on a hill about 3 kms northwest of Chiang Rai. I regret that I forget the name of the place, so if anyone can help, I would be delighted to know!

Tayto - I did say 'mostly'!

Mine was taken by the bridge where the parade went into the park. The parade seemed quite short - a mere fraction of that of 2 years ago. I took only a couple photos of it!

Was the parade longer elsewhere? Know anything about that? With so many other activities over such a long period, and an incredible dragon show in the park late at night (I hear), a short parade seems strange...

I was in the same spot , must have missed you.

Agreed, it was very confusing.

Don't know whats going on ,a lot of events over the few days and nobody knowing exactly what or where.

I believe this is Doi Khao Kwai (Buffalo Hill). There is a temple on top of the hill which is also accessible to vehicles. Important for those with weak knees or too fat to climb.

It's been so long since anything new appeared here, I thought I'd put up a few even though they aren't quite as spectakular as others...

as titles don't come up, I'll add: the top middle one shows a cow control fense. To its right is Hermit (Ruisii) Hotel's new Jao Mae Kuan Im (tacky kitch to compete with Santikiri's huge tea pot!) and lower right is Muay's mother's worship station.
