Tywais
Does any one know what voting is going on in Chiangmai now, amphur, district, etc? It's driving me crazy. Every hour there is a fleet of pickups with banners on them and a blaring sound system driving by in front. One stopped right in front of my house for several minutes and I couldn't even think straight. Some groups have even approached me at my house to ask me to vote for their candidate. Well anyone stupid enough to think a farang can vote certainly won't get mine (if I could)
cmsally
Or Bor Tor elections. Tambon district council or whatever they call them. Living in the middle of the city seem to have escaped this one. But full force anywhere outside of the city. Never mind elections are held tomorrow so campaigning should stop this evening. Quote my housekeeper who was quoting a candidate in her area. "If you elect me I will die for you if necessary" Quote my housekeeper " I would like to bloody well see that." That about sums up the substance of most of the discourse probably. Thank you for the info, I can deal with one more evening - It's been like this for nearly two weeks and accelerating. I live in a moo bahn near Hangdong, maybe why they are so prolific. Hmmm, well here they come again as I am typing. ps. so you have a british housekeeper? Edited July 30, 2005 by tywais
cmsally
"ps. so you have a british housekeeper?" No!! I'm translating! Another good one - which you can translate yourself as not sure how well it translates. Or Bor Tor - Ao Bor Dtair (Should actually be Ao Mu Dter - but the slightly Isan version works better)
