Thaivisa 2011 Calendar

It's that time of year for starting the design of the 2011/2554 Thaivisa Calendar. Last years 2010 Calendar was a great success due to the excellent photo contributions from Thaivisa members.

I would like to do this again this year and hope to see members posting their photo contributions here to include in the next calendar.

Requirements:

  1. Photo should be taken within Thailand
  2. Landscape mode (wide). Portrait mode is possible if it can be cropped properly to fit the calendar's format.
  3. Minimum 1280x1024 as the calendar will be printable and need the resolutions to be high for good print quality.
  4. Panorama can possibly be used if a pair is submitted to fit the image format box.
  5. By posting your images here you give Thaivisa permission to use them in the calendar. Credit will be given through watermarks on the photos unless a member specifically wishes it not to be.

The photos will be copied to a gallery dedicated for the contributions and members can vote for their favorite. The voting is based on a star, 1-5, system (see below). The data will be weighted/normalized in order to balance the votes properly. The reason for this, for example, is if a photo is given 5 stars but only one vote it would not be representative of all voters. To normalize it is to take into account total votes cast for all photos with total votes and its value for a specific photo.

This topic will be open for 30 days and the gallery will be made publicly viewable for votes about a week before that in order to have a wide selection of photos to vote for.

post-51002-0-01760200-1290341548_thumb.jIf the smokers that still flick or leave behind their toxic cigarette butts which takes up to 12 years to decompose and their disposable lighters, ever saw a baby choking to death or the insides of dead fish, turtles, seabirds and other wildlife that died before their time from ingesting these things.

We are quite sure they would never litter again.
