FHM model committed suicide, police say

By The Nation

Police have concluded that Sasitorn Onwimon, a 28-year-old model for FHM, committed suicide by taking 10 sleeping pills and then shooting herself on October 11.

Deputy national police chief General Panupong Singhara na Ayutthaya told the press yesterday that on-site investigation and forensic evidence proved that she had shot herself because only her fingerprints and DNA evidence were found on the gun and in the room.

Police discovered that the first gunshot was an accident, with the bullet hitting a closet. Gun residue was also found on her blanket because she first cocked the gun and then used both her hands to shoot herself in the head. The motive for the suicide is believed to be stress from romantic and financial problems, and the fact that the model was an introvert.

Sasithorn’s family has been told about the police conclusion and they have not objected to it.

LOL, LMAF.

I am sorry but too start with if someone takes 10 sleeping pills they fall asleep they do not fall asleep to then pick up the gun to shoot themselves-it might be little hard to do since that person is sleeping.

Secondly if she was committing suicide, i would think taking the pills would do the job. or was she trying to make sure she is successful in her sleep. Police should be ashamed of themselves not only to come up with this conclusion but to also make it final findings and inform the family

RIP Sasitorn Onwimon

Holy moly, and an introvert as stated. Twas truly a Beautiful girl.

Seems from hearing from many of people here and in the US that there has been something bad in the air, something ral negative for many of people. I can say I have felt it, and others have said the same, but not to the extent to that she went or is assumed to have done.

TIT...Never know, did she do it, or did she not!

Interesting, because an earlier report from The Nation (linked in another thread on TV), reported:

Deputy city police chief Pol Maj General Sumet Reung-sawat said police found some suspicious points in her death that suggested the scene might have been staged to cover up a murder.

He said that if the model committed suicide there should not be gunpowder on the blanket - and there were reportedly two spots of gunpowder on the blanket. That suggested a person may have covered her face before killing her.

It's strange how it so quickly went from a murder investigation to a conclusive suicide.....

Wow...stunning for sure. Suicide just doesn't make sense. Wifey read the news article and it says this was a murder, they used the blanket to hide the noise of the gunshot. Her ex-boyfriend's brother said she was a happy girl and had a great looking future. Friends say she has been in a lot of fights recently with her hi-so current BF, who owns a restaurant in Bangna. Looks like this is another case of a hi-so paying off the police to cover a hit job. Really, really sad.

RIP.

To put it in the easiest form I can explain, like a dark cloud that has been hanging over for a small period that seems to be affecting lots of people in a vast area. And if it does not affect you, one can still feel the negativity, gloom or oddness in the air and know something is just not right. But by all means not a warm surrounding feeling. Sort of like giving one a sense that they need to protect themselves or watch out more from an unseen thing by walking a perfect straight line without been wishy washy or having the slightest of even a negative thought for feeling that if they do, something not so good or bad will be subjected upon or come to them..

Call it strange if you like, but my wife and neighbors have been talking about it without me even mentioning it, and no, the sky is not falling and Armageddon is not here either.

Hope that sort of makes sense without sounding strange, or mystic or like a nutcase..

So, I just bought a bunch of tin foil and have wrapped me and my house in it. No, just kidding about the tin foil.

Ok, I am just plain crazy!, and so sorry, this is off topic....

Is it all natural I see, or did uncle doctor help to 'enhance' her personality to 'highlight' certain assets ? Makes you wonder about 'beauty is only skin deep' and 'happiness comes from inside'

Just an observation. RIP this young person

Don't forget, smooth tinfoil is no good, you have to crumple it up and open it a few times before wearing on your head.

Thank you sarahsbloke...

Thanks so much for the tip on the tinfoil.

I was thinking to leave it smooth and next wrap a layer of cellophane around to make it more aesthetically appealing, and to help not blind innocent people from the glare.

OK, first I will crinkle it and then……

Often, suicide "doesn't make sense" to those around the victim, let alone distant strangers to the victim like us.

Relationship problems, particularly a volatile one as described, very often act as a catalyst to suicide.

Being fully aware of how other situations have been erroneously been ruled as such, this could easily be an actual case of suicide.

So to get back on subject, I would like to see the autopsy results and see if she indeed did take 10 sleeping pills and that the capsule residue is actually in her stomach, or if not, then someone slipped something in her drink and made it look like 10 capsule sleeping pills were taken by emptying that amount from the container or packaging they come in.

Pretty hard to force 10 pills down some ones throat without having physical sings of that abuse seen on the body.

Depression can be a factor but so could other things beyond her control.

Just a thought. Was her well to do boyfriend’s related to Chalerm?

"and the fact that the model was an introvert."

Models are rarely introverts.  Just the opposite, in fact.

Sort of makes you wonder where the police come up with some of this stuff.  Personally, I think they just make it up as they go along.  Truth, justice... what's that?

Isn't that the "American way"? It's a "never ending battle". :D

Never before, and not from any other country, have I ever seen nor heard of such a multi-talented police force as the one that Thailand is graced with.

The world should take notice, and send their cadets to Thailand, so that they can train with the best of the best, in law enforcement tactics and criminal psychology here in the Land of $miles.

It is evident from all of these articles over time immemorial, and from the quotes from these BIB, that to be a Thai police officer, one must have the following qualifications on one's CV:

Medical doctor

Pathologist

Psychologist

Psychiatrist

Medical examiners

Crime Scene Investigator

Forensics Specialist

Expert in paranormal science

Expert in mental telepathy

Judge Pro-Temp

Defense and Prosecuting Lawyer / Attorney

Legal guardian

God

Other

It's a funny thing that in developed countries the prosecuting attorney usually has a say in these stories; or hey! even a judge and jury. Here, the final word on criminal matters always seems to come from the police. At least that is the impression one gets from the skewed reporting, and the bile that they offer up as news.

The only other explanation I can conclude is that until a complete investigation is conducted under the supervision of someone who can be trusted (yeah, right!), then whatever happens in Thailand can only be taken at face value, and not even one single cause or reason for the crime can be trusted. translation? Police investigation = oxymoron

This is the regrettable thing about events like this; that its possible that one can truly never know - and the fear and concern and anger augments in my mind when I imagine myself or my loved ones being in a position where I / they need to rely on these individuals to get to the truth, using every capable means known to criminal science. No one can convince me that this is the case, and I will sadly have to take it at face value. They say that in Thailand, do everything you can possibly do to resolve a situation; before you call the police. The police are the last people you want to intervene in any negative situation. That is pretty sad.

My sympathies to her family in their time of sorrow and grief.

I hear ya, but the Thai article said everyone who knew her said she was a really happy person with a super bright future. She'd won many awards and had some big contracts coming up. Just doesn't sound like the kind of person the police are describing. Suicidal, introvert. Maybe she had a new BF and the old one got jealous? It's happened before. :whistling:
