News_Editor
New James Bond film to hit theaters in 2012 2011-01-12 12:06:58 GMT+7 (ICT) LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) -- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (MGM) on Tuesday announced that a new James Bond flick is scheduled to hit theaters next year. The new movie will mark the 23rd James Bond film and will commence production in late 2011 for a worldwide release on November 9, 2012. In addition, MGM said Daniel Craig would be returning as the legendary British secret agent with Sam Mendes directing a screenplay written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. Further details were not released, but the story is expected to continue where 'Quantum of Solace' last finished. The 007 franchise is the longest running in film history with twenty-two films produced since 1962. Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli took over the franchise from Albert R 'Cubby' Broccoli in 1995 and produced 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace.' Wilson and Broccoli of EON Productions - which co-owns, with MGM, the copyright in the existing James Bond films and controls the right to produce future James Bond - together with Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, Co-Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers of MGM, made the official announcement. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2011-01-
