It is good to see that there are still lots of activities going on around Phuket.

I have always enjoyed going to one or two when I stayed at Kata Beach area.

I still have great memories of all the times I have visited there, and hope to spend some time on my next trip Winter of 2015/2016

Dr Brander’s demonstration of rip currents, in which he pours a harmless dye into the water which traces the path of the current, will be held opposite the football stadium at Karon Beach starting 14:00

Rumour from Pat James and other organisers: There will be another show at the Air Park, possibly including the German stunt pilot (I call him Red Baron), on second Saturday of May. The date is still unconfirmed.

Phuket old town festival starts today.

Some photos of the 2013 event by me

Thank you for posting this, otherwise I would never have known of this event! No mention on the TVF "Phuket Events & Offers" sub-forum, or in the Phuket Gazette online.

This festival is huge - much bigger than I expected. The streets were closed to motor traffic at 4pm, but things didn't really get started until after 5pm, and by nightfall the streets were packed with people. A huge variety of very inexpensive food, especially on Thalang Road, east of Phuket Road.

Tomorrow (15th) is the last day.

This Sunday (24th September 2017)

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is a global motorcycle fund-raising event to raise awareness of prostate cancer and male suicide prevention.

The procession leaves from Chillva market at 1300 (just near the big Tesco), 431 Yaowarat Rd via route 402 and finishes at Saphan Hin just before 1400.

They’ll be lots of nice bikes to check out and stalls ect.

Ao Por night market at the pier starts this morning and lasts for 2 days.

It's not a big event, but if you are located close by or simply wish to see how Ao Por looks like, welcome.

What a rarity: a Bangtaoboy post that is not controversial that most people would agree with (I think)!

Too many Phuket events lack publicity; the fly-in show last weekend being a great example.

Good post, though I have no suggestions just yet.

The 9 Day, 9 Gods festival next month. Absolutely fantastic!

 AKA The Phuket vegetarian festival
