Edi Rama, leader of the opposition party, urged citizens to unite in Tirana on Wednesday in a powerful demonstration against violence after accusing Prime Minister Sali Berisha of Friday's incident. The three people who were killed during the violence died from gunshots outside Berisha's office. One was shot in the head and the other two in the chest. It remains unknown who killed the three. Berisha said the responsibility of the violence falls on the organizers and denied any police shooting. He added that anyone who dares to violate the law will face consequences immediately. On Friday, hundreds of people gathered in the streets and headed towards government buildings as they were calling on the conservative government to resign. The Socialist Party accused the government of corruption, abuse of power and fraud during the last elections. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2011-01-
