I may have missed it but I'm quite shocked that we haven't had comments from the resident white female, overly-opinionated hags that seem to pop up whenever this subject is discussed. You know the ones, all appear to be married to wealthy, educated Thai-Chinese guys and spouting off comments like "They're old enough to be you're daughter" etc.;)

I do not wish to appear to defend Farang female here....

And I also know that almost all Farang female here definitely do not need any male to defend them on or in their behalves for certain....

But I also could testify to all that most Farang female here are very different from local female in terms of life experience, outlook, life goal and objective.... just to mention a few....

<snip>

They're also twice as old and twice as heavy.

And let's not even mention 'attitude'...

You are busted. You are either Andy Gray or Richard Keys from Sky Sports enjoying an extended break from work in Bangkok.

I knew it was just a matter of time before someone bit.

But instead of a feminazi white female, we appear to have some metrosexual, misguided white male whose balls are carried around in his girlfriend's handbag.

For your info also.... not every Farang female is married to wealthy Thai/Chinese....

I know. It's called sarcasm.
Your quote is exactly the fact that some ladies are just barely old enough to be regarded as our daughters....;)
Which makes them all the more attractive. ;) Edited by RusticCharm

This all sad, really - for the girls - products of the cosmetics, modeling, bling-bling, pop culture, MP3, SMS, Twitter, MSN Msgr, etc. industry, and just plain old raging hormones and no one to teach or role model temperance and self-discipline.

True; most of these uni students are real head-turners in their garb, but it is made ridiculous when one considers they are getting all dressed up with no where to go. I can not help but look, but I do feel sorry for them.

Most of these posts lean towards regarding these students as nothing more than sex objects, and I can't say I blame these posts.

Some questions for these girls that I would like to get a poll on is this:

"What is the purpose or goal of dressing the way your do?"

"Are you aware of the effects that it has on the general male population when you bend over and reveal the lining of your panties?"

What is the first thing that enters your mind when you are standing in front of the mirror, before leaving your room for classes, and you appraise your cleavage and the near apex of where your inner thighs meet?"

"When laying upside down on the staircase so that you can pull on your skirt, what is going through your mind?"

Truly, this article has nothing to do with modesty; rather it is a report on the immodest behavior of ignorant, stupid girls, who haven't the faintest idea for most anything they do, I'll wager - scheming and competing felines, vying for sole attention of the floppy eared Labradors who are ready to mount 24/7.

Life holds no regard for ignorance or being coquette. Hence, be careful what you dress for (intentionally or not), because the day will come when you more than likely will get it, but not in the manner or fashion you intended.

If you knew some US graduates that statement might hold some water. However you can't judge US graduates by your experience with Aussie University students.

that aint nothing to boast about ??

Lets face it, Thailand has got a very bad image regarding things like that.., and they are now broadcasting it..

what next..

Thais are not dumb. Check the views of this thread. It is one of the best forms of grass roots marketing available. Check the male to female ratio of posters on Thai Visa. This is it. It is the last stop. This is where the old male elephants come to die. When it is gone we will just fade away. Japan and the US are the leaders of the porn world. Thailand does not have any to speak of. Why?

No need. Thai men don't need it. Falang men who live here don't need it. Japan or the US? Well you know the answer to that.

I think we need lots of pictures to help us really understand the issue at hand here - lol

Excellent idea!

Funny you should say that. being boss and all...

The case for the prostitu prosecution:

BTW is this the longest 'moderator review' on record - 14 months

Without pictures, this thread is going to die.

And with all links to the photos in the previous thread magically changed by someone who will remain nameless, this thread may as well be deleted.

Maybe one of the English students studying in an international program in Thailand can show off what they have learned so far and give a written description of what a picture might show. B)

World wide most all universities do NOT force adults to wear uniforms. This is just a symptom of Thailands ancient mindset about how to control youth, which is utterly out of tune with world standards. Unless you couldn't forced wearing of Chadors for muslim unis.

No young girl wants to look like just another cipher in the same clothes as ALL her friends, so they use what assets they have by wearing the tightest clothes that show off what they have. If they were free to dress as they chose, in a reasonable manner, they likely would dress MORE conservatively relative to tightness and what they try and show.

The 'authorities' are clueless about all this.

I believe I agree!

I disagree. Uniforms are a great idea at any level of education. It saves students spending too much time shopping for clothes and getting dressed for school or university. It also helps out students who don't have the funds to buy lots of clothes. Girls would need a different dress almost every single day.

In case a lot of you have not considered it, most business and institutions have uniforms eg:

1. Hospitals

2. Military

3. Police

4. Businessmen and other male professionals. Suits of similar colour and design is mandatory in order not to stand out in a crowd.

5. Restaurants

...to name only a few.

In fact, looking the same as other workers is a necessity in most professions. What's the big deal about students looking the same?

I reckon the authorities living in countries with no uniform are clueless.

tropo for once I agree with you. I put on and tied a tie every school day of my life from 5 years old to 21 years of age. I had a uniform in kindergarten, grade school, high school and when I got to college I wore a blazer and khakis with a blue button down shirt and regimental tie. In college the blazers changed from tweed to blue depending on my mood or the weather. In cold weather I wore a trench coat and bowler with an umbrella. I got the bowler from the same shop that made Steed's in the Avengers. Stuffy, I know.

My youngest daughter upon dressing up for an 8th grade party and asking my opinion of their dresses, I told my wife the girls looked like a bunch of 12 year old hookers. And they did. It was shockingly inappropriate.

During my youth I was exposed to young ladies wearing plaid kilts and plain blue uniforms without patent leather shoes (reflective surfaces were banned) and noticed no negative side effects to their studies.

I am a firm believer in separation of the sexes for all levels of education as I see no advantage in having mixed classes.

Boys in one school. Girls in another. Let them study. There is no advantage worth the continual grab ass and adolescent male showing off behavior and it only leads to trouble, lack of scholarship and unwanted pregnancy.

Put them in uniforms, and let the individuality come out in academic excellence rather than pink hello kitty socks.

Right, separate them in childhood, and thus prevent them from learning how to interact with the opposite gender until an arranged marriage is done for the good of the families future. Why could this not help but create better and more rounded individuals with respect for each other?

With divorce rates approaching 50% unwanted pregnancies rampant and so on, I think you have a good idea. Do you really think the status of the family and marriage is better now than 100 years ago with arranged marriages? The Chinese arranged marriages are the right idea. Arrange a marriage for business and the family. Stay together because of the kids and the family. Mia noi instead of divorce seems to me like an orderly way to manage life rather than divorce courts and kids raised in single parent homes.

There is no valid, reliable, evidence from any scientifically conducted study that shows that uniforms have anything to do with academic achievement. While they may have some utility for student safety reasons, the whole notion of student uniforms at any level of education is a total waste of time and money and usually money in families that can ill-afford the expense.

Brian

the reverse argument is uniforms level the field inexpensively. Student do not need to keep up with the latest fashions at school.

...and without uniforms the poorer students feel inferior due to their inability to keep up with fashion. They are picked on and ridiculed while the richer kids would be constantly seeking attention with the latest fashions. This can't happen if they're all wearing the same uniform.

I'm sure plenty of other Asian tertiary education institutions require uniforms. They do in the Philippines too.

Yes we need pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!

And lots of them so we can see what the problem really is......and come up with suggestions!

We definitely need photos, but I disagree with "lots". Let's focus only on the worst offenders. Please submit only photos of the tightest most revealing nature. An affective judgment can only be rendered when all the facts are reviewed in context. Perhaps some photos of the worst offenders of other cultures? apanese, Chinese, and say as European representatives Swedish, and Ukrainian, could be included for comparison?

I agree that we should concentrate on only the worst offenders, but maybe reserve this thread for young, hot, Asian women to avoid encouraging any ageist or racial stereotypes. :whistling:

Uniforms cost money too.

And if you only have two sets and they are geting ratty or of less expensive cloth

you get the same peer pressures.

No way. Young fashion followers wouldn't wear the same clothes 2 days in a row. There is no way uniforms work out anywhere near the cost. 2 good quality uniforms will last a long while.

Next time you meet a student/graduate or PhD, you ask them simple questions like:

1. What's the name of the Capital of The Netherlands ?

2. What's the cause of High & Low tide ?

3. Where does "Wind" originate ?

4. What is the base ingredient of Plastic ?

And all YOU will get is a very blank stare !

Don't take my word for it, mate: just try it, okay ?

I would think if you asked question 1 to a group of US graduates you would get a hell of a lot of blank stares too.

No;

about half of them would answer 'France?'

the other half will go for 'Berlin?'

I asked the above questions to my 10 year old godchild. He knew all of them and is 8 years off his first year of higher education.

But Ok, let's make it a bit easier on the Thai bachelor degrees since - because they love their country so much - they get little knowledge foreign facts.

1. What is the altitude of your home-town village (approximately) ?

2. How old are the remains of the Khmer temples in Thailand (approximately) ?

and then

3. What is the skirt length of the uniform you are wearing (approximately)?

now see which one of the answers will have the best approximation, even percentage-wise.

Recent reports say:

- 80% of Thai teachers fail their own subjects

- Thai children have among the lowest IQ scores in the world

So really... why does it matter what they wear to class when their education has good chance of being doomed anyway? LET THEM BE SEXY!!!!
