Markymark
Anyone recommend a good shop in CM for the supply of artist paints and materials? Thanks and regards Edited September 14, 2005 by Markymark
Steve2UK
Can't remember the name but there's a big place on Ratchawit Road (inside the moat & not far from Thapae Gate) - same side as the Irish Pub. Books on the ground floor, stationery and artists materials upstairs.

It's also right next door to Sandy's UN Irish Pub on Ratchawithi Road.

If not, chances are that they will be able to suggest a source. Or check with the faculty at CMU? http://www.arc.cmu.ac.th/
JuniorExPat
There's a shop near the train station that you may want to check out. I've got a terrible memory for names - roads, shops, people etc so these directions are going to be interesting! Coming from 'town' heading out to the Superhighway there is a right hand turn immediately before the train station (the turning you would take if you were going to the station) take this turning, go past the station, parking and warehousing on your left and then pull up before the junction where turning left would take you across the tracks, look over to the right hand side of the road and there is a group of shops one of which sells all kinds of stationery, paints, papers etc. Hope that is helpful! p1p
Suriwong Book Center also has a reasonable supply of paints & brushes etc. in the ground floor stationary department. Canvas can be purchased by the meter from Warorot Market (Dalat Luang) Most framers will stretch it for you if you can not do it yourself. Another supplier of artists materials is a big shop close to Chiangmai Gate. If you follow the traffic past Chiangmai Gate and the entrance to Wualai Road. Take the next right across the moat and pull in on the left of the road there. You will be parked outside the shop.
