News_Editor Posted March 10, 2011 Share Posted March 10, 2011 Landmines in Pakistan kill 7 and injure 17 2011-03-10 08:53:16 GMT+7 (ICT) QUETTA, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- At least 7 people killed and 17 others injured during separate landmine explosions in the western region of Pakistan, officials said Wednesday. The explosions occurred in the Dera Bugti region of Balochistan, Pakistan, local authorities told the Daily Times. In the first incident, a pickup carrying 20 people ran over a landmine in Pirkoh near the Pathar Nala, detonating a strong explosion that resulted in the death of four people. The blast also injured 16 others, but three of them later succumbed to their wounds after rescue teams transported them to local hospitals. In Loti, a vehicle carrying Oil and Gas Development Company Limited employees drove over another landmine. The explosion injured four employees.
