News_Editor Posted March 12, 2011 Share Posted March 12, 2011 Tour bus accident in New York City kills 13, injures 17 others 2011-03-12 20:06:50 GMT+7 (ICT) NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) -- A serious bus accident in the New York City borough of the Bronx killed at least thirteen people on early Saturday morning, emergency officials said. A spokesman for the New York City Fire Department said the accident happened just after 5.30 a.m. local time on the New England Thruway near an interchange with the Henry Hudson Parkway. Around 30 people were on board the bus, which is owned by the Brooklyn-based World Wide Tours. At least 13 people were killed in the accident, the spokesman said, adding that six others were critically injured and taken to area hospitals. Eleven others sustained injuries. It was not immediately clear if children were among the casualties.
