Newbie Visa Run Question

hi, i'd like to spend at least 6 months and probably a lot longer in LOS. i don't need to work or anything like that. I have a US and a UK passport.

can i get by by doing visa runs to laos, malliasia, wherever every time i need a visa update. Will imigration start to get pissy if it's clear i'm just crossing the border and i'm living in thailand full time?

i'd like to get a plane ticket from the US for april thur september. would I likely have a problem with that? i don;t recell ever been checked at the airport before but maybe it happens.

Save yourself grief, get three entries of a tourist visa. Each entry enables a 60 day stay, and all can be extended by 30 days, and that covers up to 9 months of stay. Most airlines won't carry you into Thailand unless you have got a confirmed outbound ticket within 30 days. Many border points do get pissy at the walkers.
