News_Editor Posted April 6, 2011 Share Posted April 6, 2011 Two killed in U.S. Navy jet crash in California 2011-04-07 05:29:53 GMT+7 (ICT) FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (BNO NEWS) -- Two crew members of a U.S. Navy jet were killed after their aircraft crashed near a Naval base in central California, officials said Wednesday. At around 12 p.m. local time, the F/A -18 Hornet aircraft crashed southwest of Fresno, California around half a mile from Naval Air Station Lemoore, a U.S. Navy official told the Los Angeles Times. The all-weather fighter jet, which is also used as an attack aircraft, crashed on a grass field, but no ground injuries were reported. The names of the two crew members are being withheld until family members are notified.
