Sukhothai's Light And Sound Show

I visited Sukhothai in February this year to see the ruins at Meuang Gaw and Si Satchanalai. I heard about the Light and Sound show when I was arranging transportation, and asked a few people about being able to go and sit down and watch it properly but everyone (hotel staff and locals in the meuang) told me that it was for Japanese tourists only who paid 3,000 baht.

I ended up watching it from the banks of the lake, where the view wasn't bad at all. I saw the tourists sitting on the isle and admittedly they did look Japanese, and there were no farang at all, despite seeing quite a few in the meuang.

However, I yesterday spoke to some guy in the thaivisa chatroom who said that he was able to watch the show from the designated viewing area during Loy Krathong a few years ago!

So... what's the deal with the Light and Sound Show? I'm confuzzled.

hey,

I saw the light & sound show at Pi Mai Ruin about 3 years ago.

We got a ticket to the full rehersal on the night before the real show

for about 150 bath which was a lot cheaper than the regular show. (500?)

I thought it was a great and I did saw some farang there. There were a lot

of local people and kids watching the show too.
