News_Editor Posted May 28, 2011 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Bus accident in southwestern Iraq kills 13 2011-05-28 21:34:24 GMT+7 (ICT) BAGHDAD (BNO NEWS) -- At least 13 people were killed on Saturday morning when a passenger bus ran off a road in southwestern Iraq, local media reported. The accident happened in the Ifag area of Al-Qadisiyyah Governorate, about 30 kilometers (18 miles) south of Al Diwaniyah, according to the Aswat al-Iraq news agency. It happened early Saturday morning. "A passenger bus had run through an agriculture combine in Ifag area [..] instantly killing 13 persons, among them women and children," Traffic Police Director Lt. Brigadier Abdul-Amir al-Rikaby told the Iraqi news agency, adding that women and children were among those killed. al-Rikaby said all the victims were locals who were on their way to Najaf, the capital of Najaf Governorate. Other details were not immediately available.
