Asim Kauser, 25, was arrested at his parents' home in Bolton on June 8 after an investigation by the North West Counter Terrorism Unit. Based on evidence as a result of further investigation, the UK's Crown Prosecution Service gave authority on Wednesday to file charges. According to Stefan Jarmolowicz, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police, Kauser has been charged with four separate offenses under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000. "[The section] refers to possession of records of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism between January 1, 2009 and June 4, 2011," Jarmolowicz said. British police did not immediately release more details about the arrests, but said Kauser will appear at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on Thursday. In early May, British nuclear police arrested five men under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 after they were seen making photographs near Sellafield, a facility that is responsible for decommissioning and reprocessing nuclear waste and fuel manufacturing on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. The men were later released without charges being filed -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2011-06-
