MONTERREY, MEXICO (BNO NEWS) -- Two mutilated bodies belonging to state government security personnel were found on Wednesday morning in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, officials said.

The bodies were found at around 8 a.m. local time in the municipality of Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, and according to further investigations, they were identified as part of State Governor Rodrigo Medina's personal security team.

According to reports, the assassins dropped off the bodies on Arteaga and Chapultepec street and opened fire on them. At the scene, police recovered 18 empty shells belonging to two assault rifles, an AR-15 and an AK-47.

Details regarding the identity of the victims or their security responsibilities have not been released, but Governor Medina reiterated his fight against organized crime. "The threats will not stop my determination to fight organized crime," he stated through his Twitter account just hours after the bodies were found.

During the past week, three bodies were left hanging in the same city. Last Wednesday, one of the hung people was found alive, but last Sunday, members of an organized crime group hung a third victim and set the body on fire as frightened residents witnessed the violent acts.
