sabaijai Posted October 19, 2005 Share Posted October 19, 2005 An music & art festival is going to be held in Pai from noon on Saturday, 5 Nov until 6am Sunday morning. Tourism in Pai was negatively affected by the recent floods and the community is organising the festival to help jump-start tourism there again and also to raise awareness about the contributions of poor environmental management to the flood damage, e.g., illegal logging in the surrounding mountains, building on flood plains, etc. The following bands will be playing on three different stages: Carabao (full band) Nga Caravan (Surachai Chanthimathon) and Wong Caravan (Mongkhon Utok) Phongtep & band Hin Lek Fai Job To Do Chai & Blues Menace Sudsanaen Band (from Sudsanaen, Chiang Mai) Pure Chart & the Bebop Cafe House Band Fang (Pai) Took Brasserie *plus special guests Several visual artists will be creating and displaying art installations related to the floods and the local environment, including Peerapong Doungkaew, Thawatchai Hongphaeng, Saravuth Duangjampa, Suwat Arvut and Chanwut Hothai.
