chris2004
I recently booked a flight to Hat Yai to get away from the Songhran madness in Pattaya next April. But having looked for a hotel there seems to be very little available in Hat Yai or Songhla, certainly compared to the hundreds available around Krabi. Does anyone know of a good hotel in that area (at a reasonable price). My only alternative seems to be to hire a car and stay around Krabi. craigt3365
They don't celebrate Songkran in the South? I think you might be in for a shock! We live down near the Ambassador and have NO problems with Songkran here. Actually, the one in Ban Amphur is really fun. Low key and polite. Though we do avoid central Pattaya and Jomtien at all costs....
Judy Khoo
There are a few good hotels there like Asian Hotel and Lee Garden Plaza. These are quite central, so there is a lot of shopping and activities there too.
bangkokburning
No shortage of hotels sure Cant give you mine but it wouldnt be a secret. shocked no ones mentioned it but then again most TV members would never stay in a B200 nt room. Patong Bob
Always stayed at King's Hotel, near the railway station and just around the corner from the bright lights. About 440 bht, air-con, color TV, room service, someone carries your bag to the room and the front desk will organise a cab back to the airport. knocka
Hat Yai has heaps of hotels, probably more than Krabi. Recommend VL Hat Yai Hotel You can normally book a room at this hotel for 750 baht plus taxes thru Agoda. But for Songkran next year it skyrockets to 1399 baht.
