BMA Vows To Push On With BRT Project

THE BANGKOK METROPOLITAN ADMINISTRATION VOWS TO PUSH AHEAD WITH THE BUS RAPID TRANSIT PROJECT ON ITS OWN

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) vows to push ahead with the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project on its own and open a bidding contest, despite the current Cabinet’s verdict which stated that the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) would be the sole initiator of this project. The board of the BMA also insisted that it is ready to continue this project.

Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayothin (อภิรักษ์ โกษะโยธิน) said the BMA would quickly arrange a bidding contest and initiate construction in order for the BRT buses to start servicing the public within the middle of next year. In the meantime, he has told Deputy Bangkok Governor Samart Rajapolsit (สามารถ ราชพลสิทธิ์) to follow up on the matter and see when this matter can be brought into the Cabinet meeting.
