'i know tricks that you could only dream of

looks like it's your lucky day

a killer key change

is all you'll ever need'

The Cooper Temple Clause

Who Needs Enemies?

What about:

'a new winter coat and shoes for the wife

and a bicycle on the boys birthday'

(The composer too)

AND

'Theres a man who spoke wonders (al)though I've never met'im

He said "He who seeks finds and who knocks will be let in"'

Is 2 cheating? They're both quite easy.

Enough of these leftist scallies , heres a bit of class for you herberts....... :o

i heard there was a secret chord

that david played and it pleased the lord

but you don't really care for music, do you ?

well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth

the minor fall and the major lift

Jeff Buckley Hallelujah

technically No! His is my favortie version of this beautiful, beautiful haunting tune, but Leonard Cohen is the author.

There is not one thing wrong with this song. It is about as perfect as songs can be, and Jeff arrangment is THE aarrangment.

If Lovejoy is around still (where is that guy?) he´ll be interested to know Rufus Wainwright and John Cale both did versions of this song as well.

2 is easy... bad seed Nick "Are you the one I´ve been waiting for....

as for number 1, well Don´t go diving for pearls ---- Elvis Costello´s Shipbuilding....

Love that guy...

Maybe this next one will be a bit harder...

The colours fade to grey

And I'm left with black and white

Don't know why I try

To fight with what is right

The truth is on our lips

It looks like time to tell

But you know I could be wrong about that as well

I thought a happy ending was more or less assured

I thought a little warmth could win the war

But you know I could br wrong about that as well

I thought a happy ending was more or less assured

I thought a little warmth could win the war

From the High Fidelity Soundtrack:

I'm Wrong About Everything - John Wesley Harding

Ok,

'years ago I woz an angry young man

I'd pretend that I was a billboard

standing tall by the side of the road

I fell in love with a beautiful highway'

and

'I stumbled out of bed

got ready for the struggle

I smoked a cigarette

and I tightened up my gut

I said this can't be me

it must be my double'

Again, judging by musical tastes expressed here, these should both be easy.

And now guess the following song....

Young gal you done me bad and I went and did ya wrong

Young gal you done me bad so I went and did ya wrong

Oasis - Go Let It Out

:o

Heres another lyric from a better much underrated UK band.....(IMO)

Amusing belly dancers

Distract me from my wine

Across Tibetan mountains

Are memories of mine

I've stood some ghostly moments

With natives in the hills

Recorded here on paper

My chills and thrills and spills

ps no google searches ya cheats...
