Calling Uk. Again.

Was told by Nice Shop Assistant that calling from Thailand to UK with 12Call has changed from prefix 009 to 005.

Visited website, and indeed. saw 005 mentioned.

However, just called UK to find it still exorbitant (relatively) 19 baht as opposed to aforesaid NYSA's 6/7 baht a minute (she didn't seem sure).

Anyone can confirm What Prefix Number Actually Is Now?

Thanks.

009 was always a TOT prefix wan't it? not a 12call prefix.

Get an international dialling card, it's cheaper.

Not Fresh Off The Bloody Boat - 'International (haha) Dialliang card C.R.A.P.

Anyone with a more informed/intelligent reply?

009 was 12 call 1,5 week ago

005 was DTAC 1,5 week ago

Really? Just yesterday I tried several times with the 009 prefix only to get the 'mai mii mai lek ...' followed by 'the number is not complete/assigned. Back to shop to be told 'changed to 005, whereupon 'phone answered, but at 19 baht per minute.

Anyone?

For somebody Not Fresh Off The Bloody Boat I would have though the logical step was to call AIS call centre on 1175

If you follow the instructions they send you a nice little text back with the prefix 00500 and how to check the rates. It's 6/7 baht minute to the UK + vat.

I think PattayaParent was right with his Get an international dialling card, it's cheaper.

009 (and 001) are CAT calling codes see http://www.catteleco...=562&subcat=865 .009 rate is 6 or 7 thb/min depending on whether calling fixed or mobile.

007 and 008 are TOT codes(008 is also 6/7thb, cant remember exact).

005 is AIS own intl call code, again not sure of rates.

Agree with PattayaParent calling cards are usually cheaper (sometimes much) available at 7-11 etc. Note calls to mobile numbers tend to be more expensive.

You're maybe not fresh off the boat but seems you haven't learnt much in your short time here.
