We drove through it a couple of weeks ago (looking at some land)and although it has all of the modern infrastructures ..ie local gov. buildings,shops,banks,schools I dont remember seeing any remotely "western" type hotels. Samut Prakan south of Bangers is similar..rich area,(Banpu industrial Estate just up the road) again lots of banks,gold shops,Naval Base,7-11s,English schools.the usual but Not a single pub and as yet I have never even met a backpacker walking around the place....very Thai.
