scottie
Had lunch at a new place advertised in CM mail, Mi Casa off Suthep road. Thought it very good & well worth finding out. Med style cooking, nice presentation etc. Terrace & inside eating. We had lunch time set menu, few choices to have. Drinks not cheap though...or am I getting tight Also anyone know how La Casa is now? last reading on here, poor service & inedible food. Would like a few more options to go to that side of town. OH Mi Casa has a nice sign on main road, turn off here & has a bit of parking. How about Mikes hamburgers on Nimmanhaemin. We really enjoy Amazing sandwich, but haven't tried their burgers as yet. Happy eating Scottie
ThaiPauly
You could try the "Secret Garden" in Hang Dong , on the way to Bantawai if you fancy a drive out of town, prices are cheaper than in town, GREAT Thai food and small western menu, but adequate. many ex-pats use it a lot. To get there , drive up the road to Hang Dong (past the airport). Turn right to Bantawai and the Restaurant is one click up on the right hand side. Plenty of parking space. You can either sit inside or outside in a sala. ENJOY

Happy eating Scottie <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If I get your location right. M Pizza is close by on Suthep. I never had the pizza there but the spaghetti and lasanga is very good and the house wine good and cheap even though the red is served a little chilled. BKK Grill is close by there too. Good stuff and cheap although I never have worked up my courage to have a steak. I stick with the chicken and sausage. I eat at Amazing Sandwich all the time. Sandwiches good, had a burger one time and it was inedible. Mikes on Nimmanhaemin burgers are edible. Edited December 9, 2005 by kerryk
Ajarn
Also anyone know how La Casa is now? last reading on here, poor service & inedible food. Would like a few more options to go to that side of town. I recently had dinner there and was very pleased with the service (maybe because we were the only people there?) and the food (maybe the chef could focus more on our food). Had some ravioli and spaghetti.. Excellent sauce... Parking very convenient, right in front on the main rd.

Ricardo
New place 'Farang Cafe' , next door to the new Rimping, on the junction of 2nd-ring-road & route 1001 to Mae-Jo. Did a nice Goulash-soup, my boys enjoyed the pizza & sausages-&-mash, and prices reasonable (65-80B per-dish) + watched BBC-World & cartoon-channel while we ate. Worth it, while kw does the shopping (BORING !), next doors
