Guest endure
Anyone know where you can get beef suet in Chiang Mai?
Maejo Man
Rimping have imported "Atora" brand, but you have to look for it, normally tucked away somewhere. Alternatively you could pop down to the local abatoirs and get some fresh ox kidney suet. I have found it the best for suet dumplings and steamed steak and kidney puddings
p1p
Atora in Rimping is the veggie stuff. If you want the genuine article, I fear the abatoir is the only answer.
Maybole
I too am looking for suet in chiangmai, but the latest replies to this topic appear to be about 10 years old has any body seen it recently? Incidently, the thai phrase is Nam Man Phaen. Staff in Big C, BakerMart and Rimping had never heard of it.
BritManToo
The hard palm oil works just as well for most uses, Samson, etc. As for real suet, I'm sure I saw some in MeeChok Rimping in the last 3 months. It was just sitting on the cheese shelf.
HullyGully
Have look at this link, called British Corner Shop https://www.britishcornershop.co.uk/about-us I bought some items I could not find in CM I paid GBP 5 for delivery, I guessed the price would be the same or cheaper after buying in the UK at a higher price plus postage Parcel arrived okay
