ganrad
does anybody know the correct name to use when asking for indian pickles? I know there are several different but the one I'm thinking about (mixed pickles) is with lime, chili, lotus stem, carrot etc. Do anyone know where to buy it in Bangkok?http://www.eastwestbazaar.com/product_info...products_id=852 Check out these shops (a) Value mart within Rembrandt serviced apartment complex (Next to Red Pepper restaurant) entrance from Soi 20 ( Value mart store attached to Pasand restaurant at entrance of Soi 12 Suk © There is a shop within a sub-soi around 100mtrs down Soi 10 Suk on the left side. tigerbeer
The Indian Place in the Rembrandt is really great but not really cheap. Does anyone can give me a hint where to find good (cheese) naan in BKK ? I didn't see a good (and affodable) indian street restaurant - can any one help. I just returnd from KL where i spend NYE and over there you just fall in love with this stuff... Khun Yak, A bit confused as to whether you are looking for naan which is a type of Indian flatbread or cheese which is known as paneer in hindi. If it is naan that you are looking for then there are loads of places specialising in naan bread around the Sukhumvit soi 3 area. the cheese nan that khun yak is talking about is one of the fusion malaysian indian food available only in malaysia. its available in most "mamak" stall centers around KL and Malaysia. nothing like that in northern indian cooking. malaysian indian food is just different and most farangs who have had it a few nights eating it while drinking "teh tarik" can never forget the experience. the fish curry on banana leaf with rice together with some mutton varuval is my favorite. its really a mix of malaysian malay, south indian, north indian mix of food delicacy there. highly recommended for your next visa run. as far as northern indian food is concerned, the Rang Mahal at Rembrant is as authentic as it gets. but pricey. but the view is good though on the roof top. oh and about the local people who cuss indian food, just put some "prik ki nuu" in their mouth to shut em up. or some mutton vindaloo.
