Certificate Of Good Behavior / Criminal Record Clearance

Recommended Posts

I am required to provide documentation that I have not been convicted of any crimes during my time in Thailand. This is being asked for in order to pass the security clearance for doing work for a government agency in a European country.

I have no clue where to get this, and I am no longer in Thailand. Is there anybody out there who can shed some light on how to obtain this documentation?

I required a Police Clearance Cert. from Thailand for immigration purposes to Australia.

Hopefully this information is uptodate.

Specific procedure for Thailand

Advice from the Thai authorities is that if you are physically in Thailand you need to apply in person for the police clearance at the central police station so that your fingerprints can be taken. The office is open 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday (except public holidays).

Processing time is advertised as being seven days.

There is no official charge for a Thai police clearance.

Apply to:

The Police Clearance Service Centre

Building 24, Royal Thai Police Headquarters

Rama I Road, Pratumwan

Bangkok 10330

Ph: </span> </span> </span>02205 21689</span></span> </span></span> </span>

Applications in Thailand – you should provide:

  • a passport
  • a Thai ID card
  • two passport-size photographs
  • house registration (Thai nationals only)
  • a military service or military exemption certificate (Thai males only)
  • a change of name certificate (if applicable).

If you are an overseas national applying for a police clearance in Thailand you will need to provide evidence that you are or used to work or reside in Thailand. If you are currently working you will need to provide your Thai work permit.

Overseas applications – you should provide:

  • a copy of your passport or travel document certified at a Thai embassy or consulate
  • a copy of your Thai ID card
  • a copy of house registration
  • two passport-size photographs
  • three sets of fingerprints (contact your local police station)
  • a change of name certificate (if applicable)
  • a military service or military exemption certificate (Thai males only)
  • a return self-addressed pre-paid envelope.

If you are an overseas national applying for a Thai policy clearance you will need to proide a copy of your Thai work permit and a document stating the dates that you previously lived and/or worked in Thailand.

If you are in UK, call Khun Tip at the embassy and she will advise. Sometimes she will forward the request for you so you get a quick answer. She is my friend and she also did this for my Thai friend's wife as she was previously a TEFL teacher in Thailand.

I think it took 14 days.
