Messi in a united shirt is just a dream smile.png but City or Chelsea could just about afford him and his wages.

I'm afraid you are right.

Unless he is one of those very few left, whom still look for career challenges, as he knows his salary will be good anywhere.

Would be a significant career challenge to play in a league where a knee shattering late tackle often ends in a mere yellow card....

Although in fairness the Butcher of Bilbao only got a yellow for this:

Another goal for Messi in a 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo. Its his 19th La Liga game to score in succession and he has now scored against all the La Liga sides in this run. He last failed to score against Celta in early November and commenced his run against Mallorca in the following game.clap2.gif

this can't have been done before can it? it's not just that he keeps scoring for fun and making the incredibly difficult look really easy, it's that he also stays fit. his injury record is pretty amazing really.

Barca rest him very infrequently. When he starts a match he almost always plays 90. With Argentina he always plays 90. A little guy, with a humongous motor.

Even as a Barca fan I'm glad to see Messi getting a break. His hamstring problem was obviously more significant than Barca let on. We all know how hamstrings can mess up a career if not handled correctly.

I suspect they may have risked it in the last half hour....but the game was clearly beyond them by then. Good call.

Messi subbed out around 60 minutes last night. Its about time he started getting his playing time shortened in blow outs. He lives to play, but the recent recurring muscle issues say he ought to cut back when he can. Plus, apparently Tata wants him to track back some and play a little D. Which he is more than capable of doing. So, he might have 40 goals instead of 50.thumbsup.gif
