I have spent much time in this area...and it's not so exciting :) Its a quiet little town with a pretty boardwalk that has a nice market, and some nice beachside restaurants with great seafood. It's quite cheap to live here. You would be very close to Satun city in one direction, which offers some nightlife, Tesco Lotus, and a little bit of tourism if you are craving some english conversation. In the other direction is Pak Bara, which is the main pier to get to the islands of Ko Lipe, Ko Tarutao, Ko Bulon, etc (15-45 minute boat ride).

There are a couple other teachers living in this area, too.
