manarak
Drew, I have a business here and have seen a lot of people come with ideas, Some are sound, but as soon as I hear the words internet or software, I just smile and think there goes another dreamer. Best of luck. Jim That's probably because you don't know too much about internet. The point is: a real internet-based business should work anywhere in the world. Ideally make it work first and then move where you want to, taking the income with you. That's probably what OP is doing, he's got a running business and wants to relocate to a place with good climate and nice girls. Can't blame him, I'm doing the same. True I have no idea on how an internet business works, I am a simple man. What I can understand is if you sell a produce, produced in Thailand you may have on line buyers from overseas. What I find had to understand is why anyone would buy a produced, software or solid goods produced in another country, from a 3rd country. You buy something from a UK company and you have rights, if what you bought was not fit for the purpose. You buy on line from Thailand what rights do you have, none. I fully understand that I am from an age gone by, but it all seems just a bit of a scam, or people believing they can make money with nothing but a computer. Would love to be making the bucks just by sitting here playing around on the net. Jim

Would love to be making the bucks just by sitting here playing around on the net. Jim direct ecommerce is just a tiny little bit of internet business. First, there is advertising - draw people to your site for whatever reason and sell advertising. Second, there are affliliate systems, i.e. draw people to your site and promote a product which is sold by a third party, for example flights or hotel rooms. Get a share of profit for every lead you generate. Third, offer digital content that people must pay to see - most "content" is porn, but there are also many sites selling financial research or other special interest content. Fourth, make sites for other people, sell hosting Fifth, dropshipping. Find a shop or a producer who has a product that is not yet sold on the internet and offer to do the internet part of the work, i.e. the internet site, order system and payment collection and let him do the logisitics, which are packing and sending, inventory. ... There are endless possibilities. The internet is about bringing people together, usually buyers and sellers - in some markets the buyers are happy to pay, in other markets the sellers of a service are happy to advertise. Making money on the net is just a matter of understanding such situations, designing/programming a solution and then to market it to the right people. jamescollister
Will take your word for it, but seems all smoke and mirrors to me. Can understand how Facebook, Google and even this site work and make money, but they take a bit more to run then a office on a beach. Will catch up on things in the next life. Puccini
I thought it was Google themselves who sell their ad words or auction them off. Have no time for a web search right now but perhaps somebody else can look it up. drewsclayton, for backgraund information, what is the name of your company in the UK and where is it registered? Profits can be imported into Thailand tax free after a waiting period of one year abroad sitting on an account.

It would be possible to fly to another country in the morning to do his online work there and then fly back in the evening, but I did have the impression that this was not his intention. He could manage the company from Thailand, without being an employee, same as being a business owner in Thailand without work permit, tasks are limited to controlling and strategy / decision making. The revenue is then tax free. That being said, there are a lot of foreigners who like to "play internet" for endless hours every day.
