Popular Post Bill3173
Wat Chedi Luang Chaing Mai I have been to many Wats over many years and thought I had seen it all, but Wat Chedi Luang (to me) is different. It had a very calming effect and I just wanted to sit there and take it in. Apologies to Dal as some of the pis are similar to yours, post #122. But I just love this place. Robby nz
If you want strange temples DocN you must go to this place in Ang Thong The Mrs had hold of the camera that day and was only interested in taking photos of our friends so I have limited number. Phar Ubosot. Seems Islam is not the only religion that has virgins in heaven. The gates of Hell. Inside you will see what you sinners are in for if you don't reform quickly You could wander round this place for hours taking photos.
rene123
Those were lovely photos, Blether, of the opulence of Thai temples. The only thing that bothers me is the majority of Thai people live on very little money. I doubt if it was the wealthy Thai people who paid for those opulent temples. Something is wrong with that picture.

Dancealot
Nice photos DAL What are those things hanging from the statues chin and hands?are they some kind of insect colonies? Thanks, these are not uncommon, bee hives. I was fascinated that for some strange reason unexplained(to me) the bees tend to congregate in these specific places. If a reader can explain this phenomenon here it would by highly appreciated. Here is another example Edited June 19, 2013 by Dancealot
