Wat A Place

^^^ @ SJ...

This is most likely a field workers "away" dwelling for the times in the forest.

On field treks in the bush I have come across many of these all over

Southeast Asia. Many folks tend to natural plants like cashews & wild

banana's etc up in the hills & build these to keep em cozy during their stay.

This is a really nice one, many are dilapidated. Good discovery!

This was not exactly a wat.... It was a shrine (with a small wat in it, but I did not snap it). Exact location is still a mystery to me!

Wat Phra Phutthabat Tak Pha, lies to the SW of Lamphun, in amphoe Pa Sang. Amongst all the oddities is a tableau depicting the stages of life....

Wanted to get out of Chiang Mai and get some fresh air so I headed up to Wat Doi Thaen Phra which is up past the Jo Cheek Reservoir located north east of Mae Jo University. Would have gotten some other pictures but was having to shoot around tents. I think they are getting ready for Makha Bucha day already.

Khao Chee Chan (Buddha mountain, Sattahip)

The outline of the sitting Buddha, also known as Sukhothai-era Buddha, stands 130 meters tall and 71 meters wide.

It was Built in 1996 to commemorate King Bhumibol’s golden jubilee, the 50th anniversary of his accession to the throne,

the King’s children with members of the department of Geological Resources and the nearby Asian Institute of Technology

started the construction. Using American laser technology the image was carved into the sheer cliff in just two days.
