TP1
Hi, I'm new here but I never stopped admiring your photographs. Please, accept my contribution to this thread. This is a Wat near Khon Kaen that I thought it looked better in the lake than the real thing. I know that the quality is not good enough but I keep trying. Many Thanks. shaggy1969
Buddha at the top of our little mountain in Nong Saeng,Tha Khantho,Kalasin. Calling The Earth To Witness / Earth Touching BuddhaThe most common pose you will find in Thai temples is with the legs crossed, the left hand in the lap, and the right hand pointing to the ground with the palm facing inward toward the Buddha. This posture is known as Calling The Earth to Witness, and it is the definition of the moment of enlightenment for the Buddha.

TP1
Khon Kaen, City pillar shrine. A famous monk and former governor of Khon Kaen placed a stone inscription from an ancient site in Amphoe Chum Phae here for a Buddhism rite and set up the city pillar shrine. On the right hand side you can see the Pullman hotel. The inside with the stone. Offerings, please notice the pigs head. Outside the shrine, offerings of a lot of little animal statuettes. shaggy1969
@ TP1 Thanks for those last Khon Kaen photos you posted.I have been past that shrine countless times but have never managed to stop to make some photos,am sure that there are not too many roundabouts with sure a beautiful center piece.Have you ever been to the "Elephant Temple" just outside Khon Kaen? @ sunshine ....Lol,well spotted. It would seem that Sunday's Buddha (Pang Thawai Net) is missing, but it appears that there are two of Monday's Buddha.Someone made a cock-up!!!
