Wat Phratat Phanom, Mukdahan (on a very, very rainy day)

Popularly held to be one of the four sacred pillars of Thai religion
(the other three are Chiang Mai’s Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Mahathat
in Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Wat Phra Phutthabat near Lopburi)

Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol,Roi Et

This huge chedi is 101 meters long, 101 meters wide and 101 meters high
and was built on a plot measuring 101 Rai, which is about 40 acres. The
number 101 comes from the name of the province it is located in, namely
Roi Et, which means 101 in Thai.

This is a new Wat they have been building south of Lamai Samui, for a while now .... (several years) .... I assume one day it will be decorated, although it is quite striking the way it is.
