5.1-magnitude earthquake rocks Myanmar's Kachin state

BANGKOK, July 10 -- A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar's Kachin state early this morning but there were no reports of casualties, according to the Seismological Bureau, Meteorological Department of Thailand.

The Bureau said that the quake occurred at 3.13am.

The tremor, at a depth of 40 kilometres, was located in Myanmar's Kachin State, 690 kilometres from Thailand's Mae Fa Luang district of Chiang Rai, it said.

There was no report of any impact from the quake in Thailand. (MCOT online news)
